President’s Corner January – February 2017

Come And Grow With Us

Christmas and New Years has come and gone for another year. I hope everyone had a great time and are thankful. I know I sure am.
My family and I had a great time visiting, exchanging gifts, and a lot of shared laughter.

We had two happy people at the Chapter Christmas Party. The drawing was held and the lucky local winners received either a Quilt or a Marlin 22 Rifle. Dan Igou received a plaque for his service as past President for six years. Thanks Dan for an awesome job!

Bobby had a fantastic graduation in Mt. Vernon with seven members of the chapter joining with the celebration. He was happy and we are happy for him. Great job Bobby.

The plaques for Sheriff, City Police, and Fire Marshall are ready to be presented. Charlie is working on media coverage at the presentation. I will get back with you as to the presentation location.

A big Welcome to the new Members and Associate Members! The Chapter includes Veterans of All  wars to join the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 952. Rex is the Chair of the Membership; so be sure to contact Rex for more information.

The Chapter has an ongoing project for the homeless to include: Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, snacks, socks, gloves, shaving cream, disposable blades, pencils, notepad, poncho, diabetic socks, etc. The Dollar Tree is a good store to look for items. To assist: Contact the Homeless Veteran Coordinator, Sam Hudson at

It was hard to say good by to 2016 but I’m looking forward to 2017 and what lies ahead. I know a lot of projects were accomplished, completed, and awards given in 2016. Lets get together and work together for a fantastic 2017! All ideas are welcome so don’t be bashful.

If I can answer any questions about the Chapter, be sure to call 417-894-3659 or drop me an email
I wish you all a very successful 2017. Until next time everyone take care and enjoy life to it’s fullest.

Your President
